The 2020-21 Academic Year at Bar-Ilan University Will Begin Via Zoom
"The coming academic year will be more technological and advanced in terms of teaching and maximum utilization of open areas on campus."
Bar-Ilan University is prepared for hybrid learning, combining frontal and online learning, as outlined in a blueprint formulated over the summer by University administrators. Due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the academic year will begin via Zoom learning, in accordance with an announcement issued by the Council of Israeli University Presidents. When the situation improves frontal learning will be combined with online study.
Bar-Ilan University considers academic studies to be of paramount importance. Since the onset of the Corona crisis the University has invested time and allocated the necessary budget to make the adjustments necessary to maintain teaching and study at the highest academic level. This has included putting advanced infrastructure in place, faculty training, learning in open spaces, a "soft landing" program in which students who've already begun their studies will serve as mentors to new students, new dormitories, and smart classrooms that will enable simultaneous online and frontal learning.
Bar-Ilan University President Prof. Arie Zaban: "The coming academic year will be more technological and advanced in terms of teaching and maximum utilization of open areas on campus."
